Your Missionary
As a student in Kenneth Hagin Senior’s Bible School, I had a vision. While in prayer I saw feet walking through a field of grain. Knowing my own feet and that I carryied the Gospel, I asked the Lord where to find that field of grain. The vision elongated to show me the map of France. I groaned, “Oh no! Not there!” I told the Lord I would go anywhere, but I had visited France once and determined if I never went back it would be too soon!
Strictly in obedience, I went. One day while simply walking down the street, love for the French fell into my spirit like a ton of feathers, heavy enough to reach the bottom of my soul and light enough to set me flying. I’ve been in love with them every since. I know their culture; I know their history; I see why they do things the way they do and I have compassion for them. They are an exceptional people, except for the fact that they’ve turned their back on Jesus.
Less than 1% are born again. 85% of married people, men and women, have affairs. Children become sexually active by the age of twelve. Couples don’t marry until the first child turns four, just to make sure marriage will work. Occult mediums have bigger offices and make more money than doctors. 50% of the population earns 1000 Euros, or less, a month. 80% of the population works for the government, directly or indirectly. Where do I get my figures? From government statistics.
They are a people without hope and they keep themselves as busy as possible, mostly with food, drink and sex, and as distracted as possible. In any given social situation the noise level clamors as no one listens. If two people speak to each other, they both talk at the same time! My French is not swift enough to be able to participate like that. If I want to say something I have to shush them to speak. They are gracious people so they listen, but they all answer me at the same time!
Their intense living helps them avoid the void. So when a French person actually surrenders to Jesus, the relief from their intensity jettisons them into such zeal, they become so enthralled with the Lord that their passion puts Christians from my country to shame. What a joy to see French Christians dance and sing and shout and cheer for their Lord Jesus Christ! I fully expect their ardor to very soon erupt like a volcano and spread their hot lava of love over their entire country and win it back for Jesus.
My hope is in that. Even though my two children and their families are in the States, I work toward the goal of France once again becoming a Christian nation, serving my Lord Jesus Christ. Both my precious families support my work over here. My son, Jeff, comes over and fills my cupboards with staples and he makes special monetary gifts from time to time. My daughter, Jolie, writes my thank you letters in the States; she maintains my car and collects my mail, does some banking for me and especially wonderful, she edits what I write.
My grandchildren range in age from Brittany to Victoria to Madison to Alex and to baby Natasha. I told the Lord I would go to France on the condition that I could see these darlings of my heart twice a year. I thought I was really giving Him a hard thing to accomplish, but for the past 21 years that I’ve been here, I’ve seen them four times a year! God is so gracious!
My son and his wife Vicky live in Washington D.C. and both work for the World Bank. Twice a year I get to visit my nation’s capital. My daughter and her husband Stan live in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma so twice a year I get to visit the Bible Belt of my country. Jolie is a public school counselor and Stan remodels homes. Every year I travel to itinerate, mostly in Florida, California and especially the Appalachia part of the States. Coming into the country and going out of the country I visit my two dear families. My Mom and one sister, Jane, are in California, my favorite cousin, Andrea, and one of my best friends, Shirley, are in Florida so I have infusions of essential people which gives me the emotional energy to hole up like a hermit in the south of France and write my radio programs and novels.
Please read about those two arms of ministry on the Radio Stories page and the Books page. Also read about the Buried Lies Workshops because those are dramatically changing people’s lives.
