Today I finished writing my fourth book in my Destined series.  Normally finishing a book exhilarates me.  I’m at a peak, ready to race around the streets.  This one has left me bone dry empty.  Exposed.  So I took a walk.  Let the gentle winds of Paris blow through my hair, brush my mind.  At the pedestrian bridge [click to continue…]

Paris through the Eyes of a Lover

Paris in the rain!  A perfect time for me to take a walk on the Champs Elysee.  No walk is complete in Paris without a coffee at a sidewalk café so I stopped at the Café George Cinq.  (I don’t believe there is a relationship to the swanky hotel.)  The drier tables, reserved for dining patrons, left the outer rim for boissons only, but my charming waiter whisked away the cutlery and placemat and gallantly offered a chair for me in a wind free location.

The Hotel de Ville of Paris has to be unsurpassed in this world of City Halls.  I counted the statuary tucked into recesses of the building’s façade, but only in the front and one side and came to the conclusion the City Hall of Paris has over 200 statues of great men for decoration.  Of course whether they were really great or not remains to be seen.  In this day and age there are men in the world being touted as great that have committed [click to continue…]
